Placenta Encapsulation Services

Placenta encapsulation is the practice of ingesting the placenta after it has been steamed to internal temperature of 160 degrees, and then  dehydrated at 160 degrees, ground into a powder and put into capsules. There are no fillers or additives, just YOUR  placenta. This is then ingested by the birth mother and is believed to have numerous health benefits.  It is ideal to consume shortly after giving birth (postpartum), or during menopause. The placenta is composed of beneficial hormones, iron, and protein that can aid in healing after childbirth (vaginal or cesarean).  The ingestion of the placenta is known as “placentophagy.” The purpose of placentophagy by the mother is to reintroduce the beneficial vitamins, minerals, hormones, proteins, and other nutrients to her body following labor and birth to help restore a more balanced body function.

Western Herbalism

I first began my western herbalism studies with Lakota Medicine Man Paul Red Elk. After that I completed a six month herbal apprenticeship with Jessica Belden, community herbalist of Herban Vagabond Apothecary. I am also currently enrolled in The School of Evolutionary Herbalism's Astro-Herbalism course, which blends my love of astrology with my love of plant medicines. Herbalism for me is a lifelong unfolding, and delving deeper into the paradox of nature. That which is so incredibly complex is simultaneously exquisitely simple.

Though I have studied much, and taken various workshops with gifted teachers, I still have much to explore on this path. Herbs have been great allies for me on my own personal journey of healing and bring me great joy. My hope is to use the knowledge I have gained to support the work I do with pregnancy and birth, along with amplifying the blessings of the energetic alignment work I do. If you would like to know more, please contact me for an herbal consultation to help with a specific imbalance, or to purchase personalized herbal blends for pregnancy and post-partum.
